What you will do:

Repair, fabricate, and manufacture aircraft components, tooling, equipment, and maintenance stands using a variety of welding processes in accordance with regulations and procedures issued by Airborne, manufacturers, federal and state rules; perform other duties as assigned. This position reports to one of the production supervisors.

What you need:

• High school diploma OR GED
• American Welding Society certification
• 2 years experience and demonstrated proficiency in MIG, TIG, torch brazing and acetylene welding
• Demonstrated ability to read & understand Engineering drawings and welding symbols
• Basic understanding of FAA regulations pertaining to CFR Part 145 repair station operations
• Must provide tools

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl & climb and sustain those positions for an extended period of time
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
• Ability to work with arms raised above head and perform repetitive tasks and motions
• Ability to fit in tight places
• Ability to work in confined spaces with respiratory equipment
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
• Ability to precisely manipulate hand tools in a variety of situations

Preferred Skills:

• Prior AWS D17.1 experience
• Airframe and/or Powerplant license
• Prior Experience at an FAR Part 145 repair station or military equivalent
• Prior hands-on experience in a Component Repair & Overhaul, Heavy Maintenance or Line Maintenance environment
• Prior hands-on welding experience in a heavy maintenance environment
