Tampa, FL - Estimator

Summary Description Of Position

Under the direction of the Manager of Business Operations, this position is responsible for preparing cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements.

 

Minimum Requirements And Qualification

  1. Minimum of 5 years estimating experience in a commercial MRO heavy maintenance setting (additional hands on aircraft experience a plus);
  2. Ability to read and interpret aircraft drawings, engineering instructions, and technical specifications;
  3. Ability to produce timely, accurate, and comprehensive estimates to support new business Request for Proposals (RFP’s) as well as existing business maintenance programs;
  4. Must have exceptional organizational skills and be extremely detailed oriented.
  5. Must have excellent communication skills
  6. Must be intermediate level (minimum) user of MS Excel / Word 

Major Responsibility Areas And Duties

  1. Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  2. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  3. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  4. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  5. Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  6. Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  7. Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  8. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
  9. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  1. Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time
