Aircraft Maintenance Training Instructor

Position: Aircraft Maintenance Training Instructor                                  

Employee Type: Full-time                                                                        

Required Education: High School Diploma OR GED                                

Travel Required: As Required                                                                  

 

 

What you will do:

 

Conduct required indoctrination, aircraft systems initial, recurrent, aircraft run-up & taxi and other specialized maintenance courses within guidelines set by the Company, the customer and the FAA.  Develops training material in written, computer projected and computer based formats.  Schedules courses, creates rosters, produces completion certificates, files records and updates training records database.  Monitors recurrent training and schedules technicians to required classes prior to expiration.  The Aircraft Maintenance Instructor is responsible for safety; compliance and profitability in assigned function.  This position reports to the Supervisor of Training.

 

What you need:

  • High School Diploma OR GED
  • 4 years of experience in FAR 121, 145 or foreign operator environment as a technician or inspector
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAR and ATA specifications
  • Proven proficiency in training, communication and presentation skills including development of presentation and training materials
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate to large and diverse groups
  • Excellent technical writing ability
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical subject matter
  • Effectively speak, read and write in the English language
  • Willing to work various shifts and weekends if necessary to complete training
  • Must have Airframe & Powerplant license
  • Ability to operate and train forklifts, scissor-lifts, Genie-boom or other equipment as necessary
  • Valid State issued driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand and speak for long periods of time
  • Ability to climb stairs
  • Ability to climb into and work around aircraft in both climate controlled hangar and extreme weather environments

Preferred:

  • Previous instruction experience in MD80, B717, B737, 757, 767, 777, A320, EMB 104/145 and EMB 170/175 systems
  • Previous instruction experience in Avionics or Structures training systems
  • Previous experience in computer based training development
  • Previous classroom experience for an FAR 121 or 145 operation
  • 2 years experience in a Management position
  • College degree in a technical field
