Director of Planning

What you will do:
As the Director of Planning you will be responsible for the provision of planning, administrative, budgetary and direction to the Planning Department.  This includes, evaluating sales forecasts against capacity & maintenance event scheduling.  You will establish & maintain the organizational processes & structure to manage maintenance event resource planning for induction, workflow, daily adjustments to workflow and real time data collection.  You will report event work scope status compared to contract from pre-induction through departure & post departure performance.  You will identify & incorporate continuous improvement opportunities to support customer requirements, increase production efficiency and increase facility capacity.  This position reports to the General Manager.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10 years of related experience, 5 of which was in a Supervisory role

  • Broad knowledge of aircraft maintenance and modifications paperwork & terminology

  • Airframe and/or Powerplant license

  • Verbal, written, presentation, problem solving & interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of employees, management & customers

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Computer skills to operate email and other web-based applications

  • Demonstrated proficiency of skills in all Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point & Project

  • Planning, organizational skills to ensure thorough, accurate & complete results while multi-tasking and working through others.

  • Analytical skills to be able to organize data, determine gaps & trends, test alternative proposals and measure results


  • Airframe and/or Powerplant License

  • Advanced degree in Business Management or related technical field

  • Previous experience with Maintenance Event management software, such as Wings
