Engineering- Manager, Aircraft Support

What you will do:

You will directly participate in and manage an engineering team responsible for providing structural, mechanical, electrical, and power plant repair services for aircraft and components. You will review damage assessments, repair designs, and ensure regulatory compliance.  Maintain awareness of FAA Airworthiness Directives and related OEM Service Bulletins, ensuring proper compliance within engineering documentation and processes. Serve as liaison to the FAA, and aircraft  customers.  Support growth through business development activities & continuous improvement initiatives including but not limited to customer presentations, proposal development for aircraft related engineering services and other industry/business related partnerships.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Program/Project management experience with demonstrated strategic planning ability.
  • Minimum 8 years combined Airline, MRO, or OEM engineering experience.
  • Experience working/interfacing with the FAA (or designee) on Engineering-related projects.
  • Recognized organizational leadership with solid team building and communication skills.
  • Verbal, written and presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of employees, management and customers.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments and organizations.
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting.
  • Proficiency in the operation of Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, Power point & Project tools, database, email and  web-based applications.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar desktop drafting application.

Preferred Job Skills:

  • Six-Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, and/or LEAN Process training.   Prior hands on experience in a heavy maintenance Transport or Regional Jets environment
  • FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER)
  • Advanced degree and/or formal training in Business, Finance, Marketing, or area of Engineering specialization.
  • Management Training or Experience
