Component Repair & Overhaul: Machine Operator 12/17/2020

                                                                                          

 

What you will do:

Operate CNC Waterjet and sheet metal cutting equipment in support of manufacturing aircraft, non-aircraft parts and tooling. Read and understand manufacturing planning, obtain materials, set –up work on machines, cut materials, accomplish first piece inspections, debur and sand parts, and perform chemical conversion coating.  Perform general and routine equipment maintenance, and general housekeeping as required. . Work directly with Machinists/CNC Programmers and shop personnel to fabricate required parts. Assist other manufacturing areas as needed. 

 

What you need: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a fabricating shop operating CNC waterjet and sheet metal forming equipment and hand tools. 
  • Effectively speak, read, and write in the English language. 
  • Must be able to read, understand Engineering drawings and manufacturing work instructions, and measure parts using basic precision measuring inspection tools and gauges. 
  • Must be able to operate CNC waterjet, sheet metal shear, saws, drills, hand tools. 
  • Ability to set-up machines and fabricate parts. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot waterjet problems and perform preventative maintenance as required. 

 

Preferred Job Skills: 

  • Omax waterjet cutting machine operating experience. 
  • Omax waterjet programming experience. 
  • Basic computer skills (PC, E-mail, labor entry) 
  • Sheet metal cutting/shearing experience. 
  • Forklift operator experience 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work with arms raised above head and perform repetitive tasks and motions. 
  • Ability to precisely manipulate hand tools in a variety of situations. 
  • Ability to stand, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and climb and sustain those positions for an extended period of time. 
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. 
  • Good near sight/far sight acuity, hand/eye coordination, hearing, depth perception, field of vision 
  • Good speaking/communication skills
