Director, Heavy Maintenance

Position:   Director, Heavy Maintenance

Travel Required:   Minimal  



What you will do:
Provides planning, administrative, budgetary and direct supervisory control & direction to the heavy maintenance lines.  Monitors, manages and coaches to achieve financial objectives specific to sales, gross margin and budgeted operating expenses as stated on P&L.  Establishes and maintains organizational structure and continuous improvement necessary to support customer requirements and sustain business growth by evaluating sales forecasts and operational capacity.  Determines market strategy and coordinates with sales department on target customers.  Performs and recommends management actions related to employee hiring, discipline, development, coaching, mentoring and termination.  Reports to the VP of Tech Ops.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical discipline OR 10 years management experience
  • Ten (10) years experience in aircraft heavy maintenance or modification
  • Five (5) years of management experience of which at least two must be in a repair station environment
  • Two (2) years of project management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and budgetary principles specifically with P&L statements
  • Demonstrated computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheets, database, project management, email and web-based applications
  • Working Knowledge of FAA and Federal Regulations pertaining to FAR Part 145 repair station operations


  • Airframe &/or Powerplant License
  • Advanced degree in Business Management or related technical field
  • Previous experience as a Director of Maintenance or equivalent position with an FAR Part 145 repair station
